    Check out these ads--

Al Franken for Senate they are the first of Al's campaign.

The fluffy senator who currently holds that Minnesota seat responded with something about how mean spirited and negative Al is. Watch the ads and see if you agree. There is also a spot to contribute if you are so inclined.

Nothing mean-spirited here. Have you read any of his books? Recommendations? ".....LIARS......." sounds interesting...or upsetting, shall I say?

I have read all of his books.

He uses a sharp razor's edge to cut through the BS of the pundits on the right, particularly Rush Limbaugh ("Rush Limbaugh is a big Fat Idiot") and Bill O'Reilly and Fox News ("Lies, and the Lying Liars who Tell Them"). The third is "The Truth (with jokes)."

He has a definite style that is an aquired taste. I love his humor and would therefore recommend these books with reservation.

These works will undoubtedly come back to haunt Al Franken. The right wing has an amazing capacity to ignore the context of comments- both from the left and their own.

It will not matter to anyone operating the smear machine that some of what he says in these books has tongue planted firmly in cheek (its called irony). Nor are they likely to respond to any of the well-documented facts upon which his works are based.

Franken is the real deal but has a decidedly uphill battle in front of him.

I will be caucusing for Al on February 5th. If he makes it to the general election, I am much more hopeful.

Thanks. Maybe I'll get around to reading "LIES, AND...", the one that appeals to me the most, by review. The written word often does haunt! My husband agrees with the theory of "...only writing in the sand, where the waves can wash it away." Actually, that theory often applies. I find angry-letter-writing to work so well...write it; read it; rip it! Ah, isn't that better, now?

This comment has made me think of Pat Boone and "Love Letters in the Sand"! Where is Pat Boone?

Good luck with your guy's caucus. I'm sure you'll keep us posted.
